The slogan on the work clothes of the farmer reads
"Grasp Revolution, Promote Production". It was the title of an editorial published by the People's Daily on September 7th, 1966. The outbreak of Cultural Revolution severely hindered the mining and agricultural industrial activities. Mao imposed regulations which demanded all cadres must achieve the production quotas and attain the quality standard. The slogan became one of the major slogans of the Cultural Revolution.
