Scott's Emulsion has been sold as a health remedy since the late 19th century and is still available today. The image of a fisherman with a huge codfish on his back was used by Scott's in its print and poster advertising since the 1880's. Here we have a poster issued for the Chinese market. Text is in Chinese on both the packaging and the poster.

This is a very rare and early poster. The company began to use Shanghai style "lady" advertising posters from the 1920's onwards.

Note that there is a faint blue ink stamp behind the fisherman's head, though the wording can no longer be determined.
