New Zealander Bruce McLaren raced in Formula 1, winning the US Grand Prix in 1959 and coming 2 in the 1960 World Championship before moving on to win the Indianapolis 500 three times as well as Le Mans and Sebring. McLaren died testing one of his own cars at Goodwood in 1970. His greatest legacy is not his driving but the McLaren Racing Team which continues to be a leading force in Formula 1 racing.
