Jean Even was a painter and art teacher alongside his commercial work as a poster designer. He created a series of posters for Air France in the 1950's including of the Near East, Isreal, Spain and North America, as well as this design for Africa. Other clients for whom he designed posters included the Moroccan Tourism Board, Credit Agricole, Evian and Pathe-Marconi. Among his many roles, he was the official artist of the Frenc Navy during the 1950's.
