A pretty rural scene in tropical Ceylon . Frank Wootten was best known as an aviation artist, especially for his paintings of the Royal Air Force during the Second World War, for which he received a special commission as war artist to the RAF and Canadian Air Force. It may have been this work that brought Wootten to his association with BOAC in the 1950’s where he produced the artwork for a large series of posters including Asian posters for Japan and India as well as Ceylon.
