Maurice Laban was a British illustrator and poster designer best remembered for his work with BOAC and Qantas in the 1950's. Here he has designed a poster for the Peninsula & Oriental shipping company to promote their routes to Australia and the Far East specifically to encourage British holidaymakers to leave the cold home winter and visit warmer climes - the three characters on the poster below the hot summer sun represent India, Australia and Japan.
