The Canadian Pacific Ocean Services operated fleets on both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, providing transportation to immigrants heading to Canada and also servicing holiday cruises. The Pacific fleet, all white, was uniformly named "Empress of..." Although the Empress in this poster is not identified, it is most probably the Empress of Japan, which was renamed Empress of Scotland in 1942 after Japan entered the Second World War.
