Vonnegut’s first published work. A dystopian novel set in the near future in the Electronic Age where machines have replaced human in most tasks. Majority of labours, with the exception of engineers, are made obsolete. Partly based on the author’s experience as an engineer in the General Electric, the story was cleverly told with his unique sense of dark humour and irony, which was to be his signature in his later works. Sharp, clean and bright inside. A truly representative first work, uncommon with dust jacket. Collectible.
